²⁸ When Lamech was 182, he had a son. ²⁹ Lamech named his son Noah [^Cthe name resembles the Hebrew word for “rest”] and said, “He will ·comfort us in [or give us rest from] our work, which comes from the ground the Lord has cursed [3:17–19].” ³⁰ After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
